About Us

The Yazoo Herald has been serving Yazoo County since 1871. Although many things have changed over the years, our mission remains the same – to provide the highest quality local news coverage and the most effective advertising options for businesses in our area. The Yazoo Herald is published on Wednesday and Saturday every week and features full color on every page. The Advertiser is also produced weekly and distributed as a free publication in Yazoo City.

In addition to the newspaper and free advertiser, The Yazoo Herald produces six annual magazines (Weddings Etc., Football Preview, Football Review, Yazoo Sports, A Look Into Yazoo and the Chamber of Commerce Directory) and The Phone Book, the only Yazoo County telephone directory that provides residents and businesses with the option of having their cellular phone numbers listed. Our phone book also features larger print and is much easier to read than other directories.

Our award-winning staff takes pride in producing a strong community newspaper. Whether it’s covering local government, high school sports or human interest stories, The Yazoo Herald is committed to providing the best news coverage for Yazoo County and delivering the best value for businesses seeking to promote their products in our coverage area.
